An absolutely incredible home overlooking the ocean. It's a wow kind of place in every room. Design detail phenomenal. We utterly loved it and would go back in a shot! Hannah, who met us at the house and had answered so many questions was charming, funny and attentive. She went way over and above to help us, thank you.

An incredible house in a beautiful location! The house is managed carefully with regular cleaning and concierge staff. Stunningly located on a cliff overlooking the ocean we saw an abundance of local wildlife yet were still close to a small town (Montezuma) for basic services/food. Friendly and effective assistance before and during our stay made for a smooth experience.

We loved our stay at this property. The house is great, it has everything you could need and Hannah, the concierge is extremely responsive. We also organised to have a cook during our stay for dinners. She was fantastic. We got to see some wildlife around the place and considering the house is half in the jungle, the insects are not bad at all. I strongly recommend this house.

Amazing experience in this incredible house !
The house is perfectly designed and has stunning views !
It has all the things that you need if you want to cook.
And it is perfectly located if you want to have dinner in town (many good restaurants in town).
We highly recommend staying at Silvia’s house for more than a night ! One night is actually not enough.

This house is a true gem. The most stylish place with a real indoor outdoor feel. Everything is to the highest spec. Hannah made us welcome and had snacks and breakfast waiting for us as we arrived. Later she had fresh salad and basil delivered for our dinner. The pictures do not do the beauty of the place justice. The catwalk out over the sea, the beautiful staircase, stunning pool, all amazing features. There were a few insects, especially on the stormy night but that should be expected that close to nature and it didn't really bother us especially with the big and powerful fans which kept them away. We just wish we could have stayed longer. We will always remember our stay.

The house and view are even better than the pictures and the hosts are very nice and responsive. The daily housekeeping keeps the place looking great and includes laundry. Several very good and reasonably priced restaurants in Montezuma area. Puggo’s, Playa de los Artistas and Clandestina were our favorites. Playa Grande is an easy hike about one mile north and is the best beach. Another 2.5 miles is the Coatail waterfall and is worth the trek. Definitely get a good four wheel drive SUV - some of the roads really need it. Carmon Air is a great way to get there from San Jose.

We couldn't have been happier with our experience! This place was so beautiful... waking up to the view every morning was truly something special. All of our needs were taken care of perfectly. Highly recommend renting ATVs during your stay (we rented them for 3 out of 5 days and it was awesome). Also, we hired the International Chef, Aaron, for all 4 nights. That was the best decision ever, the vegan food he made for us was fantastic. The pool area was also so much fun, would be perfect for families, or two couples like we did. Thanks for everything! We will definitely be back. :)

Ana’s house is amazing. Stunning actually. I arranged transportation from tambor to casa cocobolo through Ana, and the driver was friendly and knowledgeable. Ana herself was incredibly accommodating as we arrived early and she allowed us to keep our bags at the house and recommended a great place for lunch, soda de las palmeras. Ana provided a list of local restaurants and activities and would even arrange this for us if needed. We mostly stuck around at the house and downtown Montezuma. The house itself is just an experience. Very open air, tropical and overlooking the ocean cliff-side. There is also a beautiful pool we used the whole trip. Ana was kind enough to even provide us with some ingredients so we could prepare breakfast at home. Overall, I can’t say enough nice things about this home except the pictures simply don’t do it justice! Book this house for an unforgettable trip!

What a special place owned and run by such a special couple. Pictures and words don’t do this stunning Home justice. The Home And views are so nice that was truly difficult to leave and go explore. Couldn’t recommend a stay here more.

“Outstanding experience at Casa Cocobolo. Architecturally stunning, views to die for and incredibly comfortable in all respects. If this house was in Big Sur, it would cost $10,000 a night or more. Silvia was an amazing host. When we arrived, she told us the projector wasn't working and offered us a couples 90 minute massage. The massages were extraordinary and we get massages all the time. We ventured out to a "must" restaurant, Tierra y Fuego and ran into Silvia and her family. She offered us a bottle of wine which was so nice, not to mention dropping off a loaf of the local bakery sourdough bread for our stay (house was already nicely stocked with bread, fruit, olive oil, eggs butter, coffee), and if that wasn't enough Silvia and her husband grow vegetables on a farm and dropped off arugula, lettuce and corn. We shared a bit with the iguana that came by each morning. The raccoon comes by a little later in the morning for a snack. The wife had an allergic reaction to some medication the was prescribed in Malpais, and Silvia's husband drove right over with some Allegra which was recommended by our doctor. Hard to want to leave the house, but when we did we explored beautiful beaches, jumped off a waterfall, ate divine food. We hope to return. Great stay.”

SPECTACULAR! The most amazing house in an amazing location, all attended by amazing people. We had a fantastic holiday in Montezuma at Casa Cocobolo. There was a lot to do in the area, although it was only with reluctance that we left the comforts of the house. Ana Silva has created the perfect environment to enjoy the best of Costa Rica.

"Not only was the house magnificent (it's even better than the pictures), but Silvia went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We loved every minute of our stay!.”

"It is hard to put into words how impressive and beautiful this house it. Your breath is taken away as soon as you walk through the front door and you are greeted with a 180 degree view of the ocean and surrounding jungle. I have never seen anything like it. It is truly special. The quality of the house is incredibly high. All the appliances are of the highest spec, including the amazing projector and screen. The house has all the toys you could want. The pool is abolsutely beautiful and a joy to swim in every day, particularly in the morning. The whole house is wonderfully designed but crucially it is very comfortable. The aircon in the bed rooms is very good and very quiet. The view from all three rooms is breathtaking. Ana Silvia is a fantastic host. Nothing is too much effort and she is more than happy to help book anything (restaurant, private chef, birthday cakes, fishing, ATVs etc.). She has a great book of places to eat and things to do. I could not recommend staying here more. You simply can NOT be disappointed by anything. We will be going back :)).”

The view the house affords is worth the trip alone. The house was truly designed to take advantage of the cliff side breeze and the immaculate sunrise. The surrounding area brings a slower pace of life- a relaxed way of being present. This is a place to put your phone away and enjoy more a natural and grounding way of life, even if only for a few days or weeks.

"This house is beyond perfect. It was a last minute decision to add it on to our trip for our final two nights and man was it worth it. The details in this home are incredible. The entire front of the home is glass windows that open up wide and the breeze is amazing. All of the kitchen equipment is top notch and all pots and pans are there if you feel like cooking. We were offered a chef, but decided we'd cook on our own. Silvia had the fridge stocked for breakfast as well and it was really appreciated. We rented a couple of 4 wheelers and would definitely recommend doing that. 3 minutes and you're right in the center of town with easy parking anywhere. Plus, it's really fun to explore the property and check out the views from other areas. We saw a group of about 15 howler monkeys right outside the house as we went riding. Was a highlight to the trip. Would definitely recommend closing all of the windows in the bedrooms before dark to keep the bugs out, and leave all the lights off. Not much else to say, just that we will be back on our next trip. This time, for much, much longer. LOVED IT!

"I'm struggling to summarize this place. Idilic, awe inspiring, mesmerizing, utter tranquility. Silvia has created the perfect home. Tucked away on top of a cliff face, it's just you and Mother Nature and all her beauty. Be it the sight of the sun rising or the chatter of the animals that inhabit the huge area of utterly private land surrounding the house (I mean extraordinarily huge). The house is furnished to perfection, the kitchen is fully equipped with every utensil and appliance (all of which are Kitchen Aid) a serious cook would need. The beds are delightfully comfortable, the master bedroom is a stroke of genius, and offers levels of luxury & design that very few Mayfair hotels could ever hope of achieving. Silvia is the perfect host, we were not once left wanting- everything was accommodated for, arrange or offered to us. When offered the option of ATVs (quad bikes) definitely go for them! Not only are they fun to "potter" around the property on, but they open up the entire area for exploration, and makes what would be tough walk (steep hill) to town an utter breeze! They're perfect for getting down to the beach in less than 5 minutes, or the 12km journey over to Playa Teresa to watch the sunset (after watching it rise at the pool / beach in Montezuma). One last tip, especially if your jet lagged. As soon as the sun starts to brighten the sky (pre sunrise) head down (on your ATVs) to the beach and park up where the tourists setup camp. Don't go bear footed, and walk along the beach with the sea to your right. Keep walking until you find a great secluded bit of beach to watch the sun come up. Continue your journey along the beach (following the path between beaches) until you arrive at what will be a mile long totally empty beach with talcum powder soft sand, not rocks, and perfect seas for a 6am swim / body boarding! Then stroll back to your ATVs, and head home for a 8am breakfast feeling energized and ready for the day ahead!.”

Abosultely stunning house and property!! Private house with amazing views adjacent to a nature preserve. One of the most unique and awesome houses we have ever stayed in. Well worth the money! Our kids loved the pool, and movie night on the projector screen in the living room with the ocean breeze was so fun. The daily housekeeper was such a nice addition and she even helped with our laundry! The concierge Hannah was always available and made coordinating surf lessons, horse back riding, zip lining, restaurant advice, and a tour to Isla Totruga so easy and fun! I can’t say enough good things about this rental! We rented a car from Liberia and drove the 3-4 hours here. The drive from Liberia to montezuma is mostly on a newly paved highway and other than the curvy roads closer to the end of the peninsula, it isn’t bad at all. We had an amazing stay here and made many wonderful memories. I would highly recommend this rental and a stay in Montezuma!!

Ok, there is honestly nothing I can say in this review or not a picture that can do this place justice. From the moment we opened the front door, I knew we had found a slice of heaven. I have traveled the world and stayed in many amazing places but this beauty tops them all. The views, the breezes the amenities of the home, everything! But that is just the beginning. Hannah was the most amazing concierge ever! I swear I think I pestered her the entire trip and she answered every question immediately. If you ask for a recommendation or she gives you one, just do it! She honestly took care of our every need. The owners were also so sweet and genuine. Our first night there, we had a bad storm. So the owner and his daughter stopped by just to check on us and make sure everything was ok. His daughter was so sweet and told us all about the place. They left and a few hours later she showed back up with a necklace she bought in town for my wife because “we were so kind to her.” What a sweet girl! It made my wife’s day and yes, she is still wearing the necklace. The even offered to buy our lunch at one of the nicest restaurants in town because of any inconvenience caused by the storm. We didn’t take them up on it because we felt they had done plenty! If you are considering Costa Rica, stay here! The home, the owners, the concierge and the town all make for a perfect trip!

We went to Montezuma Beach for a few days and decided to stay at Casa Cocobolo. Wow, what a gorgeous and unique property! The home is a true work of art that blends indoor and outdoor space with seamless transitions. The view is unbelievable from every location in the house and Montezuma beach was an awesome location. We will absolutely return for repeat visits.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Best place I have been to in all the countries I’ve visited. The location is superior and you wouldn’t really know how central you are to everything. The view, room, features, projector, bathroom, everything.

The concierge service, I didn’t even know the extent of how beneficial it was. Hannah was amazing. If you visit and Hannah talks to you, do everything she recommends. Had the best experience of my life.

THANK YOU!

Casa Cocobolo is the private cliffside oceanfront villa you've been dreaming of. The house surpassed every expectation. The floor-to-ceiling walls of glass all open to a panoramic million dollar view of ocean & sky. Waking up every morning in the master bedroom, listening to the waves, and watching the unobstructed sunrise over the bay was a daily ritual. The house's other unexpected (but appreciated) perks include a large projector screen with apple TV, an iPhone for guest use (including offsite with wifi hotspot or GPS), a playground for the chlidren, and *tp flushable* toilets! The house itself is incredible, but the service is also unparalleled as Casa Cocobolo comes with your own 24/7 concierge able cater to you every need. We booked a private chef (Martin, who was incredible) through the concierge. She also helped with sending menus of restaurants featuring delivery in the area. Overall, it was a much appreciated service. I could go on about the proximity to Montezuma town (and one of my favorite beaches in the world), the wildlife sightings (monkeys, pizotes, even a scorpion), and the massive property (featuring hiking trails and a river with swimming holes), but I don't have many characters left for this review. Bottom line is, if you are considering a stay in the Montezuma area, and looking for a luxurious yet comfortable stay, you must consider this property. After staying at many villas in Santa Teresa, I can confidently say this is the best we have encountered. Thanks again for a great stay - we'll be back!

If you’re thinking twice about booking this place, don’t - it is absolutely stunning and well worth the price! The owners, host and employees are all amazingly helpful and thoughtful. I travel regularly using Airbnb and I am a host myself... and this is the best Airbnb experience I have had ever. The pictures don’t even do the place justice. I hope to come back and stay again for longer than 3 nights next time! Thank you Sylvia, Hannah and all the team.

— CORIN CRAIG, DECEMBER, 2020

A very beautiful house with a breathtaking view. The House is very comfortable with good spaces to relax and eat both inside and out. There is a daily maud service so the property is always clean. Montezuma town is probably a little far too walk so you need a car to get down to the small number of restaurants, shops and beach. But you can spend many hours just looking at that view.

— ANDREW, FEBRUARY, 2020

If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica, then plan your last few days here! This place is truly fabulous. I mean, truly fabulous! We actually ended up not moving from the house at all for two days and just soaking in the breathtaking views, enjoying the sunrise and lying by the pool. Hannah was super friendly and helpful, always getting back to us instantly if and when we needed anything. Lidia came every day to clean, and was so very sweet and discrete at the same time.
The place is immaculate.
If and when I come back to Costa Rica, I will go out of my way to come back to this location, purely to spend time in the house.

— HATTI, FEBRUARY, 2020

What an amazing place! This magnificent home has an unmatched location! Everything about this trip exceeded our wants and needs! The sunrise were indescribable! Dream Villa in Montezuma!!! Thank you Thoren and Silvia! All the best and Pura Vida! Cheers

— ANDREAS, JANUARY, 2020

Everything was over the top perfect, from check-in, communication throughout the stay, and the home itself. This house is truly breathtaking, we couldn’t have found a better stay. Only a few minutes away from a very cool town and beach as well! We look forward to when we for sure go back again! Thank you for everything!

— SHAY, JANUARY, 2020

This place is Amazing. The views are breathtaking, lots of great food options in the area and the hosts were beyond helpful. They pointed us in the direction of lots of local attractions, we however barely went to any because we did not want to leave. You will not be disappointed by staying here, we will certainly be back!

— PARKER, DECEMBER, 2019

Amazing house, view, and location.
The place is unique and stunning. We feel at home in a minute. Ana is there for you if you need anything. We feel lucky for staying at Casa Cocobolo. The Pueblo is very nice, with good restaurants, and grocery stores. The beach is wonderful. People in Montezuma are very kind, and positive. Do not miss the cascada (waterfalls) of Montezuma!
We highly recommend this place and delightful host!

— ELISABETH, NOVEMBER, 2019

We had the best and most beautiful days of our holidays in this house. The house is simply perfect. Everyone who has the chance to book the house for a few days has to do it. In addition, the host is very friendly and helpful in all matters. Practical 24h service. You have to book it.

— MARVIN, NOVEMBER, 2019

We had the most amazing stay here. Home is an architectual gem with the most breathtaking views over Montezuma. Looks exactly like the pictures, a private paradise. Hanna was a very engaging and knowledgable host, who provided 7/24 concierge service. Many thoughtful touches such as stocked fridge for first breakfast and other amenities to facilitate a memorable stay. Our experience included monkey visits at the house (howlers and whiteface), surfing which Hanna coordinated, storm watching from the home, a trip to the isle of Cabuya which is a mystical cemetary island that can only be accessed at low tide on foot, even got lucky and got a short glimpse of bioluminescants in the surf below one night. No matter what excursion we went on, we couldn't wait to come back and enjoy this beautiful home with gorgeous views. A must return experience!

— JIM, JULY, 2019

Stunning property! The most breathtaking views which far exceed that which can be portrayed by photography. Service and concierge were great. Montezuma is a lovely town with a great ambience. Every aspect of this rental experience has clearly been well planned and thought out. We will be returning again!
